On November 20, the 220kV submarine cable and ancillary facilities laying project for the Huaneng Shandong Peninsula North BW site offshore wind power project, undertaken by the Submarine Cable Engineering Branch of Shandong Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Co., Ltd., completed the landing task of approximately 1.2km of submarine cable and smoothly carried out the plowing work.
It is understood that the submarine cable laid this time was delivered by Yichang Qifan in early September. The delivered ultra-high voltage optoelectronic composite submarine cable has a single length of 28.5km and weighs nearly 4000 tons. At 7:00 on November 19, the landing of the first submarine cable of the project officially began. At 14:10, the most difficult stage of the approximately 1.2km submarine cable landing task was completed. The plowing work was successfully completed at 20:00. The submarine cable and ancillary facilities laying project has a total of 2 returns, each about 26.6km. This is the first time the Submarine Cable Branch has carried out this business since its establishment in 2021.
It is expected to complete the submarine cable laying task by the end of December this year. The construction site uses 2 cable laying machines and 3 excavators to ensure the accuracy and progress of the cable laying path and ensure that the 220kV submarine cable is laid as required.
The project department strengthens the research on soil quality by organizing technical personnel, fully prepares facilities and tools such as water pumps and rain pants, and sets up special civil personnel and other measures to further ensure the smooth, safe, and high-quality organization of submarine cable laying construction on schedule, in response to possible adverse situations such as soft soil in the beach section, accumulation of water after the cable pipe mouth is affected by the tide, and civil disputes with farmers.
As the first 220kV submarine cable laying project of Shandong Power, this project will further help serve Shandong Province's implementation of green energy and clean energy and promote the "dual carbon" goal.
