The current 5G base station only supports the transmission and reception of communication signals, while in the 6G era, the base station will also support communication and perception, and can use radio waves to sense the surrounding environment, object shape and movement, etc., which can not only improve communication performance but also create new businesses.

Wang Zhiqin told reporters that at present, the world is still in the stage of technical research on 6G development, and there is no unified standard for 6G network architecture and key technologies. China started the 6G technology test work last year, and this year also carried out research on 6G system architecture and technology solutions, which will also lay the foundation for the next step of 6G promotion.

Accelerate the integration and development of 5G with new industries and new applications such as XR, digital twin, robot, etc., accelerate the maturity of related industries, and consolidate the 6G application foundation. Promote close communication and cooperation between information and communication enterprises and vertical industry enterprises, jointly participate in 6G demand research, technology research and development, standard setting, and other full-process links, and work together to build a prosperous 6G application ecology.

At present, the industry generally believes that 6G communication capability will reach more than 10 times that of 5G, and the development from 5G to 6G is a process from the Internet of Everything to "Intelligent Interconnection of Everything, Digital Twin". 6G will promote immersive holographic video, and realize the linkage of the three worlds the physical world, the virtual world, and the human world. In June this year, the International Telecommunication Union completed the 6G vision demand proposal, clarifying the typical products and key capability indicators of 6G, and the 5 types of 6G typical scenarios and 14 key capability indicators proposed by China were all adopted.

Yesterday, China's 6G promotion group also released for the first time the "6G Network Architecture Outlook" and "6G Wireless System Design Principles and Typical Features" and other technical solutions, which will provide a technical path for 6G from the Internet of Everything to the Intelligent Interconnection of Everything.

The "6G Network Architecture Outlook" proposes the design principles and network capabilities of the 6G network architecture. The "6G Wireless System Design Principles and Typical Features" combines the 6G deployment and networking requirements, and forms the 6G wireless system functions and operation characteristics and design principles.
